Luxury EV car brand from Huawei and JAC, called Maextro, wins a defamation lawsuit against a Chinese car influencer, ordering compensation of 300,000 yuan (43,400 USD). He claimed that the Maextro S800 sedan’s suspension tests were fabricated.
The widely reported story began after Maextro posted a series of videos about the S800 sedan in early 2025. These clips showed the car performing a “crab walk” and driving through potholes filled with water and sand. The car in the video was tested alongside the Maybach S-Class. The S800 left no trace on the mentioned surfaces, while the German sedan reached all the substances.
Following the publishing of the videos, a car blogger, Fraccino (赛车星冰乐), released a video, claiming that these tests were rigged to highlight the comfort of the S800’s chassis. He also suggested that such marketing campaigns are typical for brands under the Huawei umbrella.
In March 2025, Maextro demanded an apology from the mentioned influencer. However, Fraccino prepared a provocative video, ridiculing Huawei’s marketing again. As a result, one of Maextro’s parent companies, the former Nio manufacturer JAC, sued Fraccino in May of last year.

JAC initially demanded compensation of 1 million yuan (~140K USD). The blogger disagreed with the charges, saying that he would countersue the complainant for compensation of 2.5 million yuan (~360K USD).
On February 24, 2026, Maextro’s legal affairs unit announced that the court had issued the first-instance judgment in the case between JAC and Fraccino. The court ruled that the blogger’s description of the Maextro S800 was fabricated. It damaged the company’s reputation. Therefore, the court ordered the defendant to issue a public apology and pay 300,000 yuan (43,400 USD).
A new point of concern for Chinese automakers
It was previously reported that Fraccino was listed among bloggers who defamed automobile companies to attract attention and traffic in November 2025. A growing number of such individuals became a point of concern for the local automakers.
Previously, CarNewsChina reported that courts ordered individuals to delete defamatory content, issue public apologies, and pay compensation of up to 2 million yuan (~280K USD) in cases involving BYD, Great Wall Motor, and Xpeng. In January 2026, a court ruled that a blogger who published misleading claims about the Denza B5 SUV’s fuel consumption must pay BYD 2 million yuan in compensation.
