The Maextro S800 electric sedan from Huawei and JAC outsold the Porsche Panamera, the BMW 7 Series, and the Maybach S-Class combined in China last month. It became the most popular luxury sedan with a price above 700,000 yuan (100K USD).

The Maextro S800 began deliveries in China in August 2025 with a starting price of 708,000 yuan (101,310 USD). The top-trim S800 costs 1,018,000 yuan (145,665 USD). As a result, this high-end car competes with both domestic and overseas rivals. Last month’s sales data from Haidaxing ECC shows that the JAC-Huawei car became the luxury segment’s bestseller.

Maextro S800 outsold Porsche, BMW, and Maybach

In December 2025, Maextro S800 set a sales record of 4,376 units, up 104% month-over-month. As a result, it became the bestselling car in the luxury sedan segment with a price above 700,000 yuan. For comparison, the runner-up Porsche Panamera sold 1,593 cars in the same period.

Data provided by Haidaxing ECC indicated that the Maextro S800 outsold the Porsche Panamera, the BMW 7 Series, and the Maybach S-Class combined. These models placed second, third, and fourth, respectively. Their combined sales volume reached 4,140 units.

It is worth noting that other Chinese high-end sedans were far from first place in terms of domestic sales. The Yangwang U7 from BYD delivered 333 units in December 2025. And Nio sold 185 units of the ET9 flagship model. The Maextro S800 showed clear dominance in the high-end segment, thanks to Huawei’s wide car sales network called HIMA.

On December 16, the 10,000th unit of the Maextro S800 was handed over to Jet Li martial artist and actor. According to the latest data obtained by CarNewsChina, the cumulative deliveries of this model reached 11,453 units.

More about Maextro S800

The Maextro S800 is a large sedan jointly developed by JAC and Huawei. Its dimensions are 5480/2000/1536 mm with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. The S800’s cabin adopts a 15.6-inch touchscreen complemented by an even larger 16-inch front passenger monitor. The rear passenger windows of the Maextro S800 could be dimmed with a swipe of a hand.

The all-electric variant of the Maextro S800 offers a dual-motor setup with 390 kW (523 hp) power and a 95 kWh battery. It has a range of 702 km under CLTC conditions. There is also an EREV variant available with two powertrain options: the dual-motor for 390 kW and the tri-motor for 635 kW (852 hp). It also has a 1.5-liter generator for 115 kW (154 hp) and a 65 kWh battery for 365 – 400 km of electric range.
