BYD (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched longer-range Tang DM-i variants and upgraded configurations of the hybrid SUV to enhance its appeal amid fierce competition.

At an event today, the company rolled out three new Tang DM-i variants with a 175-km battery range, replacing the previous three options with a 115-km range.

The starting prices for these three variants are RMB 179,800, RMB 189,800, and RMB 199,800 respectively.

The entry-level variant of the Tang DM-i with a 115-kilometer battery range has seen its price reduced from RMB 179,800 to RMB 169,800.

Customers purchasing the Tang DM-i before the end of October can receive a RMB 10,000 trade-in subsidy, effectively lowering the actual prices of the four variants to RMB 159,800, RMB 169,800, RMB 179,800, and RMB 189,800 respectively.

The Tang is BYD’s flagship SUV series, having sold over 800,000 units to date — the first Chinese brand midsize SUV to reach this milestone.
