BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has seen the first mass-produced unit of its Tai 7 hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle) roll off the production line, with launch scheduled for the fourth quarter.

Fang Cheng Bao shared the progress on Weibo today without providing further details. The brand is aiming to expand its product lineup from off-road vehicles to conventional models for everyday use.

The Tai 7 is the second model in Fang Cheng Bao’s Tai series following the Tai 3, and is also the brand’s first hybrid SUV with a unibody design.

The model would be officially launched in the fourth quarter, Fang Cheng Bao said on July 18.
