Tesla is launching a new Model 3 variant in China called Model 3+, offering more range, likely around 800 km, with a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration and a larger 225 kW motor. The Model 3+ is positioned towards the upper market segment in China. Tesla is also filing for the Model YL, a larger 6-seater SUV variant.

The original Tesla Model 3 variants in China offer ranges between 623 km and 753 km, based on CLTC driving cycles, as Tesla shifts focus away from lower market segments in China.

A new long-wheelbase variant, Model YL, is coming this fall as Tesla adapts its product lineup in China.

Tesla’s recent Robotaxi expansion in Austin, shaped like a penis, illustrates the unserious direction of its business and is losing ground to Waymo’s more extensive autonomous service area. Despite shareholder hopes, Tesla’s Robotaxi service isn’t unsupervised and falls short of promises made for vehicles built since 2016.

BYD’s new Song L EV GT, a sleek shooting brake-styled electric SUV, was leaked in China. The model comes with single and dual motor versions, with ranges from 228 hp to 523 hp. BYD uses LFP batteries from its FinDreams subsidiary.

The Song L EV GT, classified as an electric sedan, measures 4,840 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height. It continues the Song family’s popularity, with BYD selling over 59,000 units in June.

Kia’s new EV4 Fastback offers 380 miles on a single charge with an 81.4 kWh battery, priced from £40,895 ($55,000) in the UK. It competes with Tesla’s Model 3 in terms of range and affordability.

Faraday Future launched the FX Super One, an all-electric MPV, targeting a balance between luxury and high performance with potential premium pricing. It plans for international sales and a range-extended hybrid version.

Zero and LiveWire launched affordable electric motorcycles, with Zero’s XE and XB models priced under $6,500 targeting off-road use, while LiveWire’s street-legal approach aims to compete in the small-displacement market.
