Recently, SAIC-GM-Wuling’s (SGMW) upcoming SUV called the Wuling Starlight 560 was spotted in China, according to Chinese news outlet Yiche. Like the Starlight 730 MPV, the Starlight 560 will be available in ICE (gasoline-powered), PHEV, and BEV variants. The official debut is expected to be later this year.

For the appearance, the Wuling Starlight 560 adopts a front face design similar to that of the Wuling Starlight 730. Specifically, the ICE and PHEV variants feature a rectangular blackened front grille decorated with Honeycomb elements and dual-banner headlights. The BEV variant features a closed front fascia, the same dual-banner headlights connected by a black panel, and a rectangular lower grille at the bottom.

Dimensionally, the Wuling Starlight 560 measures 4745/1850/1755 (1770) mm (l/w/h), with a wheelbase of 2810 mm. Once launched, consumers will be able to choose from both 5- and 7-seat configurations.

Powertrain

The ICE variant is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 130 kW (174 hp), which is consistent with the Wuling Starlight 730. The transmission is also expected to feature 6MT and CVT gearboxes.

The PHEV variant is powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 78 kW (105 hp), matched with a 20.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, providing a pure electric range of 100 km (assuming under CLTC conditions). The electric motor specifications have not been announced yet. The declared curb weights are 1,685 kg and 1,750 kg.

The BEV variant is equipped with a 100 kW (134 hp) electric motor and matched with 54.5 kWh and 56.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs, providing CLTC cruising ranges of 450 km, 470 km, 480 km, and 500 km. The declared curb weights are 1,630 kg, 1,655 kg, 1,710 kg, and 1,730 kg.
