Xiaomi Auto’s 500,000th vehicle rolled off the production line in China 602 days after this company started sales of its first vehicle. The Xiaomi YU7 electric crossover became the anniversary car as the demand for this model rapidly grows domestically.

Xiaomi Auto launched its first vehicle, the SU7 sedan, on March 28, 2024. The company’s Phase 1 plant took care of its production with double shifts. On June 26, Xiaomi Auto kicked off sales of its second car. It is the YU7 electric crossover aimed to rival the Tesla Model Y. The Phase 2 factory is responsible for its mass production.

Xiaomi Auto production milestone

On November 20, Xiaomi Auto’s official Weibo account shared that the 500,000th mass-produced car rolled off the production line. It took the automaker 602 days (approximately 20 months) to reach this volume. The car division of the IT giant is currently producing over 350,000 vehicles annually.

Previously, the company suffered from a production capacity shortage. As a result, the delivery waiting time for the Xiaomi YU7 SUV reached 62 weeks after placing the order. The current situation is better with the waiting time lying in the 32 – 38 week range. The waiting time for the SU7 sedan is 6 – 31 weeks. And the SU7 Ultra sports car has a waiting time of 6 – 9 weeks.

The Xiaomi YU7 SUV became the anniversary car. It is the top-of-the-line Max trim level finished in Emerald Green. It has an optional carbon fiber exterior package and 20-inch wheels with four-piston yellow brake calipers. An approximate price of this spec is 362,900 yuan (51,050 USD). The YU7 Max offers AWD for 508 kW (681 hp) and a CLTC range of 760 km. Its dimensions are 4999/1996/1600 mm.

On November 18, Xiaomi Group president Lu Weibing shared that Xiaomi Auto expects to achieve the annual delivery target of 350,000 vehicles this week. Meanwhile, Lei Jun revealed that Xiaomi aims to deliver over 400,000 vehicles by the end of 2025. It is worth noting that Xiaomi Auto delivered 75,869 vehicles in Q1, 81,302 cars in Q2, and 108,796 units in Q3. In October 2025, Xiaomi Auto delivered 48,654 vehicles.

Previously, Lu Weibing announced plans to launch global car sales in 2027 with a focus on European markets. He completed a two-day test drive of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra in Germany as part of the company’s campaign.
