After claiming the best-selling high-end BEV and EREV MPV titles in November, Xpeng is set to launch an updated X9 BEV variant soon with cruising ranges of 710 km and 750 km. Currently, there are four trims of the BEV and two trims of the EREV variants on the Chinese market with a price range of 359,800 to 459,800 yuan (51,100 to 65,300 USD) and 309,800 to 329,800 yuan (44,000 to 46,800 USD), respectively.
The updated Xpeng X9 BEV will be available in FWD and AWD. The FWD will continue to be equipped with a 235 kW (315 hp)/450 Nm electric motor. The AWD will come with an additional 135 kW (181 hp)/190 Nm rear electric motor for a comprehensive power output of 370 kW (496 hp). Both versions will use ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 110 kWh from CALB-Tech, offering cruising ranges of 710 km and 750 km, respectively. The corresponding curb weight is 2,740 kg and 2,685 kg.

For reference, the current model is equipped with a 94.8 kWh and 105 kWh battery packs, providing cruising ranges of 650 km and 740/702 km, respectively.
Marketed as an “AI” vehicle, the updated Xpeng X9 will be equipped with three Turing AI chips developed by Xpeng, providing a combined computing power of 2250 TOPS. Two of these chips will be used to power the VLA AI model for advanced driving assistance functions, and the third one will power the VLM AI model for the intelligent cockpit.

According to the declaration images, the updated Xpeng X9 BEV largely retains the existing design with some minor exterior adjustments on the front and rear bumpers to match the design of the EREV variant.
Furthermore, the length has been increased by 23 mm, measuring 5316 mm, while the width, height, and wheelbase remain constant at 1988 mm, 1785 mm, and 3160 mm, respectively.

In November, Xpeng delivered 3,234 X9s, an increase of 161% compared to the previous month. The EREV variant was the core driver of this sales growth, with over 2,000 units delivered within 10 days of its launch on November 20.
On December 17, Xpeng announced that the X9 not only topped the sales charts for both high-end BEV and EREV MPVs in the domestic Chinese market, but was also the best-selling BEV MPV in the Thai market for three consecutive months.
