TuneIn has a new partnership with Chinese manufacturer BYD Auto Co., the largest producer of new energy vehicles, to integrate its catalog of radio stations and podcasts into BYD vehicles.
TuneIn said the agreement is an example of its growing presence in the automotive industry.
BYD drivers will be able to access TuneIn’s live radio, podcasts and audiobooks through BYD’s Intelligent Cockpit System.
“This cutting-edge in-car interface features the world’s first rotatable PAD, controlled by touch or voice commands. It ensures drivers and passengers enjoy hands-free access to their favorite audio content via TuneIn,” it said in a press release.

CEO Rich Stern called the deal “major milestone” for the company.
TuneIn will offer free trials for new users with a 30-day trial for monthly subscriptions and a 90-day trial for annual subscriptions.
The announcement comes soon after news that Apple Music has brought its streaming radio stations to TuneIn.
Last year TuneIn announced an agreement with another Chinese automaker, GWM.
