Nio today released official interior images of its all-new ES8, a full-size electric SUV, ahead of its pre-sale launch on August 21st. With a length of 5,280mm and a wheelbase of 3,130mm, it is currently the largest pure electric SUV in both the Chinese and global markets.

The new ES8 will offer multiple interior themes, with a striking red interior showcased in the released images. This unique colour scheme extends even to the trunk and the area behind the third-row seats.

The new ES8 features aviation-inspired toggle switches with a straight-grain knurling process and satin-brushed trim strips. A standout feature on the door panels is the “Cosmic Orbit” metal brushed speaker grille, which houses a newly developed audio and infotainment system. The vehicle boasts 52 square meters of soft-touch materials, and the seats feature intricate embroidery with over 120,000 stitches.

In terms of dimensions, the all-new ES8 has been upgraded from a mid-to-large SUV to a full-size SUV. It measures 5280mm in length, 2010mm in width, and 1800mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3130mm, making it the largest pure electric SUV in the Chinese market. The newly revealed interior images confirm a 6-seat layout, and with its 5280mm length, the new ES8 offers Nio’s largest interior space to date.

Externally, the front fascia presents sharper angles, and the lighting units have been redesigned, with the air vents repositioned below the headlights. The lower grille frame is more defined, contributing to a more three-dimensional and dynamic appearance. Furthermore, the new ES8 is equipped with three LiDAR sensors – one on the roof and two on the front sides – along with 4D imaging radar, bringing its hardware suite to the same level as the Nio ET9.

Under the hood, the all-new Nio ES8 retains its dual-motor system, delivering a maximum power output of 520 kW (697 hp). It is powered by a ternary lithium battery supplied by CATL. The vehicle also adopts Nio’s 900V ultra-fast charging and battery swap platform, with a peak voltage of up to 925V. Supported by Nio’s third-generation intelligent platform, it can achieve a charging rate of up to 5C, allowing for over 250km of range with a 5-minute charge, or a full battery swap in 3 minutes. The new ES8 boasts a peak charging power of 600kW and a peak charging current of 765A.
