The feat was achieved with YANGWANG’s latest U9 Track Edition supercar on 8 August 2025, making it the world’s fastest EV.

Yangwang, the luxury sub-brand of Chinese automaker BYD, has set a new global speed record for electric vehicles after its U9 Track Edition supercar reached 472.41 km/h (293.6 mph).

The Yangwang U9's new top speed surpasses its previous record of 391.94 km/h achieved last October.
