China's BYD saw its 8 millionth new energy vehicle rolled off its assembly line at its new plant in Thailand on Thursday.

The new factory in Rayong, south of Bangkok, was built in just 16 months and has an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles.

The $490m BYD facility in Rayong will have a production capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year and will create around 10,000 jobs.
