Forvia, the world's seventh-largest car parts supplier, has announced plans to extend its partnership with Chinese battery specialist and automaker BYD to Europe. This expansion, revealed on Tuesday, marks a strategic move for both companies as they seek to capitalise on the changing dynamics of the global automotive market.

The Thai seat plant is the first overseas factory built jointly by BYD and Forvia, which together have set up seven plants in China.

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker BYD is rapidly expanding its presence in Southeast Asia. The company plans to establish new assembly plants in Cambodia and Indonesia to complement its existing facility in Rayong, Thailand. BYD is also growing its dealership network and introducing more competitively priced models in the region.
