BYD launches two SUVs with the new DM 5.0 PHEV technology, The Song L DM-i is all new and the Song Plus DM-i an upgrade.

BYD has launched the Song L DM-i and the 2025 Song Plus DM-i, the second batch of DM 5.0-powered hybrid models after the Seal 06 DM-i and Qin L DM-i hybrid sedans.

The launch event for both models will begin at 7:30 pm Beijing Time on July 25.

BYD will launch the 2025 Song Plus DM-i and Song L DM-i on July 25, and they will be the first BYD SUVs to be equipped with the latest DM 5.0 hybrid system.

BYD Company reportedly hired former Baidu executive Zhou Peng to lead its driver assistance technology development. Peng will focus on creating end-to-end large model planning and control algorithms, bringing experience from Baidu's smart driving unit and Baidu-backed EV maker Jiyue.
