BYD has partnered with DJI to release Ling Yuan, a $2,200 vehicle-mounted drone system that consists of a storage compartment and an on-board positioning module handle. The included drone (DJI Air 3S) can perform a dynamic takeoff / landing while the vehicle is moving at speeds of up to 15.5 mph (25 km/h) and can follow at speeds up to 33.5 mph (54 km/h). The Sealion 07 DM-i Intelligent Driving Edition features the Lingyuan vehicle-mounted drone system, jointly developed by BYD and DJI.

The system integrates a drone with the vehicle, thus giving the vehicle a vertical field of view.

In February, BYD sold 67,025 NEVs in overseas markets, marking the third consecutive month of record highs.

BYD already has a drone system on board the Yangwang U8 and has filed for variants with the system for several less expensive models.

The Bao 5 Smart Driving Edition starts at RMB 239,800 ($33,090), with two variants featuring BYD's God's Eye C system, and the other two carrying Huawei's solution.
