Uber announced a multiyear strategic partnership aimed at integrating 100,000 BYD electric vehicles into its platform across global markets.

Some 100,000 electric vehicles made by China's BYD are set to be used by ride-sharing app Uber worldwide according to a multi-year partnership between the two firms. Beginning first in Europe and Latin America, the partnership is aimed at offering drivers better access to BYD vehicles on the Uber platform, and will expand to include markets across the Middle East, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Prominent Chinese EV maker BYD Company (OTC ) is gearing up to enter the Canadian automotive market, despite potential tariffs on Chinese-imported vehicles. Canada is considering following the U.S. and EU in imposing these tariffs to counter what the West sees as China's excessive EV subsidies.
