Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker BYD is rapidly expanding its presence in Southeast Asia. The company plans to establish new assembly plants in Cambodia and Indonesia to complement its existing facility in Rayong, Thailand. BYD is also growing its dealership network and introducing more competitively priced models in the region.

Chinese EV giant targets Vietnam with dealership expansion and factory plans

BYD is significantly increasing its footprint in Southeast Asia by introducing three new models in Vietnam and is planning to add more models later this year. Today, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer launched three battery electric vehicle (BEV) models in Vietnam: the compact hatchback Dolphin, the mid-size sedan Seal, and the compact crossover Atto 3, which is also known as the Yuan Plus in China, according to a Reuters report.

Denza's first showroom in Cambodia opened on July 14 and it completed the first local delivery of the D9 MPV.

BYD will launch three additional new models in Vietnam in October and plans to expand its dealerships to 100 by 2026.
