China is set to invest around 6 billion yuan ($820 million) to promote research and development in all-solid-state batteries, the local media outlet China Daily reported on Wednesday

“While new launches should boost wholesale volume, we would monitor whether it could spark another round of price competition,” Morgan Stanley said.

This comes at a time when the world around has been moving towards sustainable electric vehicles.

According to BYD’s chairman Wang Chuanfu, the new plug-in hybrid technology can offer a driving range of up to 2,100 kilometres with a fully charged battery and a full gasoline tank.
