BYD Company (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has secured its first electric bus order in South Africa, partnering with Golden Arrow to supply 120 buses. This move aims to electrify South Africa's public transportation network, with deliveries starting in December 2023.

Public transport operator Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS) has ordered 120 electric buses from BYD for use in the South African city of Cape Town. Deliveries of the BYD B12 electric buses are scheduled to take place between the end of 2024 and the end of 2025.

BYD has launched the Song L DM-i and the 2025 Song Plus DM-i, the second batch of DM 5.0-powered hybrid models after the Seal 06 DM-i and Qin L DM-i hybrid sedans.
