Chinese automaker BYD plans to debut its new energy pickup truck, Shark, in Mexico this month.

The 2024 BYD Shark has been revealed without camouflage, with the plug-in petrol dual cab's launch timing now officially revealed.

The creature lurking in the shallows is set to be revealed next week after months of speculation and countless leaks.

On May 14, Chinese automaker BYD will launch the Shark, an off-road electric pickup that will be available in Mexico before anywhere else.

The decision to launch the BYD Shark in Mexico indicates the company's focus on foreign markets, as pickup trucks in China are classified as light vans and face numerous restrictions

The 2025 Jeep Gladiator 4xe has been confirmed as the off-road icon’s latest electrifies model..The plug-in hybrid version of the 4x4 ute will rock up next year using the same PHEV 2.0-litre turbo from the current Wrangler 4xe that already on sale in the US.

The 2024 BYD Shark was a surprise no show at the Beijing motor show but the Chinese car-maker has dropped four new teases of its electrified dual-cab 4x4 ute ahead of its imminent arrival.

For now, Tesla has avoided a major setback, but the days ahead will reveal whether the company's direction is sufficient to engineer a fundamental turnaround.
