China giant BYD announced on Thursday it is launching its fully electric compact SUV Atto 2 in Europe and the UK.

After a successful electrification transition, BYD is looking to vehicle intelligence as a new catalyst to drive sales growth.

The BYD Seal 05 DM-i is powered by BYD's DM-i 5.0 PHEV system, featuring a 99 hp 1.5L engine and a 161 hp electric motor.

BYD said on Sunday it sold 300,538 vehicles in January, marking a 47.5% increase from a year earlier. Of these, 296,446 were passenger vehicles.
