BYD's latest plug-in hybrid technology, launched in sedan versions of its Qin L and Seal 06 models, is priced from 99,800 yuan ($13,775).

The Seal 06 DM-i and Qin L DM-i are the first two models to feature BYD's fifth-generation DM technology, both available in five variants and with a price range of RMB 99,800 ($13,770) to RMB 139,800.

BYD unveiled a plug-in hybrid powertrain capable, it claims, of driving 2000 km before needing to be refueled. Auto123 has the details.

BYD will launch its fifth-generation DM (Dual Mode) hybrid technology on May 28, which is expected to give vehicles a range of up to 2,000 km on a full tank of fuel and a full charge.

The BYD Qin L DM-i plug-in hybrid sedan arrived at dealers ahead of the sales launch. It will enter the domestic market on May 29 with a starting price of 16,600 USD.

Global EV registrations were up 19% year on year in March, reaching more than 1.3 million units. The BYD Qin Plus enjoyed particular success.

The e-Platform 3.0 Evo brings higher integration and enhanced performance. The Sea Lion 07 EV starts at RMB 189,800 ($26,270) and will begin deliveries this month.
