BYD saw a 10.1% decline in sales in July as PHEV sales dropped 22.6% while EV sales grew 36.8% but fell short of expectations.

According to its latest filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, BYD produced 317,892 vehicles globally last month—a 0.9 per cent decline compared to July 2024.

BYD announced a new Pilot edition of its Yuan Up EV for $10,500 with 187-mile range & a smaller battery amid zero-mileage used vehicles row.

The BYD Atto 2 will be a rival for the Hyundai Creta Electric and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVitara/eEscudo.

So BYD has made the rest of the car industry sit up and take notice, but buyers are a little slower on the uptake.
