BYD has launched its first ever plug-in hybrid pickup truck, Shark in Mexico. The BYD Shark is a mid-size pickup truck that features a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5L turbo petrol engine which works in tandem with a 29.58 kW battery pack and two electric motors to put out a combined power output of about 430 bhp. Chinese EV maker BYD has unveiled the Shark mid-size hybrid-electric pickup truck in Mexico, marking the first time that the company has launched a new product outside its home country. The firm's Chief of Americas, Stella Li said that Mexico was chosen because of the rapid growth in demand for pickup trucks in the country.
