Electric motorcycles may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of BYD, the world's leading electric car maker. However, a new agreement will see the company's batteries making their way to Africa, where they will be used in Ampersand's electric motorcycles. Ampersand is one of the leading electric motorcycle makers in Africa, contributing to the growing boom of two-wheeled electric vehicle production on the continent. The company currently operates in Rwanda and Kenya, making significant strides in the African electric vehicle industry.

The Yuan family models include the Yuan Up, Yuan Plus, and Yuan Pro, all SUVs targeting the RMB 100,000 to RMB 150,000 price range.

That’s the idea, at least. But whatever the outcome, it’s clear that battery technology is moving extremely rapidly.
