Forvia and BYD to bring Asian partnership to Europe

The world's seventh largest car parts supplier Forvia will bring its partnership with Chinese battery specialist and car maker BYD to Europe, it said on Tuesday. Forvia said the two companies will operate together in BYD's new factory in Hungary, as an extension of their current partnership in Asia. "Our collaboration has already resulted in significant achievements in Asia, and we are confident that this expansion will drive further innovation and growth in the European market," Forvia's CEO Patrick Koller said in a statement.

BYD Co. shares fell the most in more than three weeks after Berkshire Hathaway Inc. sold off another block of shares in the automaker, taking its stake to under 5% from more than 20% two years ago.

BYD Company reportedly hired former Baidu executive Zhou Peng to lead its driver assistance technology development. Peng will focus on creating end-to-end large model planning and control algorithms, bringing experience from Baidu's smart driving unit and Baidu-backed EV maker Jiyue.
