13 BYD dealerships will open in Vietnam on Saturday and the carmaker hopes to boost that to about 100 by 2026, but a decision on a local plant is yet to be made

BYD is significantly increasing its footprint in Southeast Asia by introducing three new models in Vietnam and is planning to add more models later this year. Today, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer launched three battery electric vehicle (BEV) models in Vietnam: the compact hatchback Dolphin, the mid-size sedan Seal, and the compact crossover Atto 3, which is also known as the Yuan Plus in China, according to a Reuters report.

The Chinese EV maker showcased the facelift M6, which is the global-spec version of the e6 electric MPV sold in India.

BYD will launch three additional new models in Vietnam in October and plans to expand its dealerships to 100 by 2026.
