Leapmotor has released new preview images of the A10 ahead of its public debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 21. The model is positioned as a small, fully electric SUV and is shown with a roof-mounted lidar system, indicating that the vehicle will support an advanced driver-assistance system.
The latest teaser focuses on the vehicle’s lighting signature, which uses a three-segment headlamp layout similar to other Leapmotor products but with added curves that give the front end a more rounded appearance. The images also show blacked-out exterior mirrors and a concealed D-pillar arrangement that includes two horizontal trim pieces, a layout that may contribute to aerodynamic performance.
Design patent filings offer a clearer view of the overall body shape. The front end features a closed grille, and the fog-lamp area appears to incorporate ventilation openings. The charging port is located on the driver-side front fender, and the door handles use a semi-hidden design, as reported by Auto-Home.
At the rear, the A10 does not feature a through-type tail light element; instead, it opts for a more straightforward layout. The vehicle features a floating-roof style that aligns with design themes seen in other small, lifestyle-oriented EVs, such as the Mini and specific Smart models. Square-shaped tail-lights broaden the perceived width of the rear section.
The patent images indicate front-wheel drive, consistent with the vehicle’s placement as an entry-segment EV under the company’s A-series. Camera modules are visible beneath the side mirrors and on the front of the car, suggesting that the A10 will include a surround-view imaging system in addition to lidar-based driver assistance. The presence of lidar on a small SUV signals the company’s intention to fit the model with highway-level assisted-driving functions, although full specifications have not yet been disclosed.
Range and powertrain details remain unconfirmed, but industry speculation referenced in Chinese reports suggests that the model may use an electric powertrain with a battery pack that potentially reaches about 60 kWh. If that estimate proves accurate, projected range figures could approach 700 km CLTC under domestic testing conditions. Official statistics will only be available once the vehicle is formally presented.
The A10 is expected to compete in the Chinese market with other small electric SUVs, such as the BYD Atto 2 (known as BYD Yuan Up in China), which is similarly positioned as a compact EV SUV with urban-focused dimensions. Additional information about the Leapmotor A10 is expected to be revealed at the Guangzhou Auto Show, where the model will be publicly unveiled for the first time.
