The Stelato S9T new energy station wagon from Huawei and BAIC started presales in China with a price of 328,000 yuan (45,670 USD). The new model got 10,000 orders in one hour after the release ceremony. This 5.1-meter vehicle boasts BEV and EREV powertrain variants, air suspension, and the Huawei ADS 4 system.
Stelato is a joint project between Huawei and the state-owned automaker BAIC. This brand entered the market last year with the Stelato S9 high-end sedan as the launch model. Priced between 309,800 and 449,800 yuan (43,135 – 62,630 USD), the S9 sold 15,068 units from October 2024 to July 2025, according to China EV DataTracker.
This result didn’t live up to expectations as Huawei & BAIC planned to sell 120,000 units of the Stelato S9 annually. However, the two parties continue working on the Stelato project. On August 18, the young brand kicked off presales of its second model, which is the S9T station wagon (kombi).
Stelato S9T exterior
The Stelato S9T follows the design language of its sibling, launched last year. It has the same closed front end with a gauntlet-shaped block of headlights and a trapeze air intake in the bumper. This model boasts multi-spoke chrome-plated rims, retractable door handles, and a slanted roofline. From the back, the new station wagon has a sporty roof spoiler and a single taillight unit.
Dimensions of the Stelato S9T are 5160/2005/1492 mm with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. For clarity, it is 210 mm longer than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Wagon. The new model is available for order in six body color variants: green, red, black, gray, blue, and silver. Air suspension and a continuous damping control system come standard for the Stelato S9T.
Stelato S9T interior
The Stelato S9T interior boasts three screens in the center console. The floating main screen of the car has a diameter of 16.1 inches. A 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster sits behind an oval-shaped three-spoke steering wheel. The third screen for 12.3 inches is positioned in front of the front passenger. Huawei supplies the OS for the S9T.
The Stelato S9T’s seats offer heating, ventilation, and 10-point massage functions as standard. The front passenger’s seat supports a zero-gravity mode. There is an optional 32-inch projector for the rear passengers. The Stelato S9T is available with four interior shades: orange, dark brown, white, and light brown. The trunk volume of the S9T reaches 660 liters. Other highlights of the S9T’s cabin include 25 Huawei Sound speakers and a built-in refrigerator.
The Stelato S9T adopts the ADS 4 driver’s assistance system from Huawei. It adopts 32 sensors, including four Huawei-made LiDARs. The front-mounted LiDAR has 192 lines. The ADS 4 system supports the point-to-point Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) function. It is also capable of autonomous parking.
Stelato S9T powertrain
The entry-level Stelato S9T BEV offers a single electric motor in the rear axle for 227 kW (304 hp). The more powerful variant of this station wagon has a dual-motor AWD for 385 kW (516 hp). These modifications adopt a 100 kWh CATL-made ternary NMC battery. The RWD variant can run up to 801 km on a full charge under CLTC conditions.
The EREV variant of the Stelato S9T offers two battery options: a 37 kW LFP and a 53.4 kWh. They send power to a 227 kW electric motor in the rear axle. The bigger battery allows the S9T to run up to 354 km in EV mode. A 1.5-liter range extender for 118 kW (158 hp) under the hood powers the battery. In hybrid mode, the S9T EREV can run up to 1,305 km.
Stelato S9T presales
The Stelato S9T became available for presales in China on August 18. The Stelato S9T is available for reservation in two trim levels (Max and Ultra) within a price range of 328,000 – 368,000 yuan (45,670 – 51,240 USD). The core difference between these trim levels is the battery. The all-electric Stelato S9T also has two trims with similar names. They are priced between 348,000 and 388,000 yuan (48,450 – 54,020 USD).

Stelato officials revealed that the S9T station wagon got 10,000 orders one hour after the presales started in China. It will enter the domestic market in September 2025. There is no information about the overseas ambitions of this model. Stelato will most likely put all efforts into enhancing its sales volume in China. So, its international prospects aren’t a short-term question.
