Recently, a well-known Chinese vehicle blogger named Sun Jun on the Weibo social media platform shared a Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) vehicle owner’s experience of using remote parking control functionality to move his vehicle located in Shenzhen, China, while the he is in Vietnam.
This function is officially called VPD, or vehicle parking driver, available in Huawei’s Qiankun ADS. Users can remotely control the vehicle via a mobile app to automatically park the vehicle in a parking space or summon the vehicle to a designated location. VPD also supports scenarios such as autonomous merging, pedestrian avoidance, reversing to give way, and navigating around irregularly shaped obstacles.
The owner shared that because he needed to move the car, he tried using the VPD function to find a new parking spot, and the car moved itself successfully despite the car and the owner being in two different countries.
The vehicle’s movement trajectory shows that the car moved 12 meters in a total of 44 seconds, and the vehicle was parked in the new parking space across the street.

According to the official, Huawei’s Qiankun ADS has a cumulative assisted driving mileage of 7,282,754,951 kilometers as of January 15, 2026. In 2025, the ADS prevented 2.12 million potential collision risks and the parking assistance function was used 330 million times.
In China, the average mileage at which a serious collision occurs, triggering airbag deployment or the activation of other safety devices, is 1.8 million kilometers. For vehicles equipped with the Huawei Qiankun ADS under manual driving mode, the average mileage before a serious collision increases by 2.72 times, reaching 4.9 million kilometers. Under the assisted driving mode, this figure increases to 6.44 million kilometers, 3.58 times the average.
As of the end of September 2025, Huawei’s Qiankun ADS has a market share of nearly 28% among vehicles equipped with urban navigation assistance features in China. This means that for every three vehicles equipped with urban navigation assistance, one is equipped with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS.
