Huawei–SAIC‘s Saic(Shangjie) brand has officially pulled back the curtain on its Porsche Taycan-inspired Z7 pure electric coupe, releasing two videos that feature the vehicle performing snow drifts and undergoing extreme cold testing. This marks the first complete public reveal of the Z7’s exterior, confirming the integration of Huawei’s Tuling Platform across all variants.
Positioned as Saic’s second model, the Z7’s headlights feature independent left and right units, which, at first glance, evoke a resemblance to the Porsche Taycan. However, the Z7 differentiates itself with intricate dot-matrix light sources embedded within its lamp cavities.
The vehicle boasts a fluid and extended side profile, with an estimated overall length of approximately 5000 mm. It incorporates modern design elements such as frameless exterior rearview mirrors and a roof-mounted LiDAR unit that has been aerodynamically optimised for a smaller footprint and more harmonious integration with the body. There are also intelligent driving blue lights and semi-hidden door handles.
At the rear is the “Star River” taillight, a signature feature of the HarmonyOS Smart Travel family. This lighting signature was previously exclusive to 9-series models and the Maextro S800, now has been introduced to a 7-series vehicle.

As the most affordable HIMA brand, targeting a younger demographic, the vehicle’s overall package is expected to be highly competitive in the 200,000 yuan (30,000 USD) price segment.

Editor’s comment
Saic (Shangjie) is the newest and most affordable brand within the HIMA ecosystem. Last year, it launched the Saic H5 model, bringing HIMA vehicles into the $20,000 price range.
Unlike Aito, Luxeed, Stelato, and Maextro, Saic does not appear to have a dedicated English name, instead sharing the same English spelling as SAIC Group. Therefore, we must specify “Saic” as its brand name to distinguish it from the all-caps “SAIC” company name.
