BYD to roll out Great Tang SUV on Mar. 5

On March 3, Lu Tian, head of sales for BYD Dynasty lineup, announced that the first D-segment flagship SUV under the Dynasty series, the BYD Great Tang (or Datang in Chinese), will make its official debut on March 5.

The new model is expected to feature a 1000V high-voltage architecture, paired with a flash-charging battery capable of a 10C charging rate and up to 1,000A charging current. It supports peak charging power of up to 1,000 kW, significantly improving recharging efficiency.

As a D-segment flagship SUV, it is also equipped with rear-wheel steering as standard, significantly improving maneuverability and parking convenience despite its body length exceeding 5.2 meters. In addition, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor is visible, indicating that the vehicle is expected to feature BYD’s advanced “God’s Eye” intelligent driver-assistance system. 

Voyah Dream to Celebrate the Roll-Off of Its 200,000th Vehicle

Voyah, the premium intelligent NEV brand under Dongfeng Motor, recently announced that its midsize-to-large MPV, the Voyah Dream, will celebrate the roll-off of its 200,000th unit later this month.

To commemorate the milestone, Voyah has partnered with Huawei Qiankun to introduce a limited Voyah Dream Champion Edition. The model carries a presale price of RMB 319,900, with orders opening on March 1 and an official market launch scheduled within the month.

As a premium electric MPV, the Voyah Dream has evolved through three generations of upgrades and has consistently ranked among the top sellers in China’s high-end MPV segment. Positioned as a next-generation smart flagship MPV for families, the new Champion Edition is described by the company as the only intelligent family-oriented MPV in the RMB 300,000 price range equipped with Huawei Qiankun’s advanced driver-assistance system.

SAIC VW’s first EA211 Range Extender officially rolls off the production line

Recently, SAIC Volkswagen’s first EA211 Range Extender officially rolled off the production line. It will debut on the ID. ERA 9X model, which is set to begin presales at the end of March.

The new ICE is called EA211-ERV. SAIC VW officials prefer to call it «Golden Range Extender.» It is a 1.5-liter engine with a variable geometry turbocharger. It adopts a Miller cycle and a 350-bar fuel injection system. Other features of the ERV are a water-cooled intercooler and an exhaust purification device. The new engine has a peak power output of 105 kW (141 hp). It doesn’t transfer torque to the wheels. Instead, it sends power to a battery and electric motors.
