On November 18, the Ford Bronco AWD SUV developed by the JMC-Ford joint venture is officially opened for pre-sale in China, with a price range of 229,800 to 282,800 yuan (32,300 to 39,800 USD), and available in two BEV and three EREV trims. The EREV has a comprehensive range of 1,200 km.
The Ford Bronco adopts a boxy shape, a BRONCO logo that can light up, hidden door handles, and an rear external spare tire. Some trims are equipped with a roof lidar for a total of 32 sensors for the onboard advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) that can realize highway and city NOA. The ADAS is supported by dual Nvidia Orin-X chips.
The new car also features a pop-up roof-top tent and camping features.
Dimensionally, the Ford Bronco measures 5025/1960/1825 mm (l/w/h), with a 2950 mm wheelbase. The approach angle is 30°, departure angle is 32°, minimum ground clearance is 220 mm.
The curb weight is 2,630 kg and 2,510 kg for the BEV and EREV variants, respectively.
The BEV variant is equipped with dual electric motors, delivering 130 kW (174 hp) in the front and 202 kW (271 hp) in the rear maximum power. Paired with an 105.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, the CLTC cruising range is 650 km.
The EREV variant is equipped with a 1.5T engine, dual electric motors, and 43.7 kWh BYD Blade battery pack. The engine produces a maximum power of 110 kW (148 hp) while the electric motors produce 130 kW (174 hp) in the front and 180 kW (241 hp) in the rear. The CLTC pure electric range is 220 km and the comprehensive range is 1,220 km with a full fuel tank and full charge.
Inside, the cockpit features a D-shaped steering wheel, a rectangular instrument panel, a 70-inch AR-HUD, and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 chip.
A 7.5 L refrigerator is embedded in the center console with a temperature range of -6° to 50° Celsius. Other configurations include a 21-speaker audio system, 10 airbags, a panoramic sunroof, and rectangular air vents. The BEV also comes with a 160 L front trunk.
