The SC01 Chinese electric roadster with 320 kW (429 hp) will launch in Europe with local assembly set to be situated in Italy, CarNewsChina confirmed with the brand’s founder, Feng Xiaotong. Only 1,000 units will be available for order.
The SC01 electric roadster was first revealed in China under the Small Sports Car SC-01 name back in 2022. It was created by Tianjin Gongjiangpai Auto Technology car tuning startup founded by Feng Xiaotong. According to previous information, Xiaomi Group invested tens of millions of yuan in the project, with Xiaomi co-founder serving as one of the directors.

The project faced some initial production challenges as it applied for a sales license in China only three years later, joining hands with the JMEV brand under the state-owned Jiangling Motor Corporation (JMC). Renamed to just SC01, this car kicked off sales last April with a price tag of 229,800 yuan (33,010 USD). In January 2026, it was confirmed that the SC01 will come to Europe.
The SC01 Chinese roadster will enter Europe
On January 19, the first post appeared at the SC01 Europe Instagram page. In the profile summary, the SC01 roadster was positioned as the “true” electric sports car developed in Italy for the European market. CarNewsChina found out that the European variant of the SC01 will be assembled in Italy with a limited production run of just 1,000 units.

We reached the brand’s founder, Feng Xiaotong, and he confirmed that the SC01 is coming to Europe. However, he didn’t provide the exact timing of the car’s launch and the brand’s key countries of presence. The official teaser of the European version of the SC01 is scheduled for January 24. We expect that more details about the project will be shared during the online event.
More about the SC01
The SC01 is a small roadster with a generic styling clearly inspired by Ferrari vehicles. Its core feature is the tube frame, which helped to reduce the car’s curb weight to 1,365 kg. For clarity, the electric Mini Cooper produced by Spotlight Automotive (GWM-BMW JV) weighs 1,605 km. The SC01 adopts racing dampers, aluminum steering knuckles, and 260 mm brake discs.

The JMEV 01’s dimensions are 4106/1830/1170 mm, and its wheelbase is 2503 mm. The small roadster has 245/40 ZR18 tires. Each rim is made of aluminum and magnesium and weighs 5.9 kg. Its front and rear axles have double wishbone suspension. Another highlight of the car is a low center of gravity at 380 mm.

The car’s interior is basic, judging by Chinese standards. It has no large fancy touchscreens or intelligent ADAS features. As a driver-focused vehicle, it offers two sporty seats, a suede-covered steering wheel, a button gear shifter, and physical AC controls. The car has six speakers and rear parking sensors.
The JMEV 01 adopts two Empower-made synchronous permanent magnet TZ200XSWMA motors on both front and rear axles. Each e-motor has a peak power output of 160 kW (214 hp). The combined power output of the system is 320 kW (429 hp). The SC01 has a 60 kWh battery pack for 500 km of CLTC range. Its zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 2.9 seconds.
