China auto industry body to launch discrimination probe into US chips

China auto industry body to launch discrimination probe into US chips

BEIJING, Sept 19 (Reuters) – The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has launched an anti-discrimination probe into the impact on the auto industry of U.S. trade policy over chips, the association said in a statement on Friday.

Automakers are called on to submit their inputs as of October 13.

The probe came after the commerce ministry initiated discrimination and dumping investigations into U.S. chips on Sept. 13, a day ahead of a new round of U.S.-China talks in Spain.
