Chery’s premium brand Exeed released official interior images for the EX7 SUV on March 8, 2026. The mid-to-large SUV, which recently entered mass production, features a dual-spoke steering wheel and a 30-inch suspended integrated display that combines the central control and passenger screens. The cabin features a black-and-brown colour scheme, a floating LCD instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof, according to Autohome.

Interior

The cabin utilises a minimalist design with a focus on digital real estate. The 30-inch integrated screen is supplemented by a separate floating LCD instrument cluster for the driver. Additional features include zero-gravity seats for the front passenger, a dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel, and a large panoramic sunroof. The interior environment is finished in a two-tone black-and-brown palette, matching the premium positioning of the Exeed brand.

Market Context

The Exeed EX7 enters a segment currently influenced by high-volume competitors such as the Li Auto L7. Li Auto reported 26,421 total vehicle deliveries in February 2026. While overall market demand contracted during the recent Lunar New Year period, with major manufacturers like BYD reporting a 41% year-on-year decline in February, Exeed continues its product rollout following the launch of the smaller ET5. The ET5 recently underwent a price adjustment on March 5, with the 210 Laser Radar version increasing by 5,000 yuan (720 USD) to 164,900 yuan (23,910 USD).

Powertrain & Architecture

The EX7 utilises the E0X high-voltage platform. The pure electric (BEV) variant employs a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration. The front motor produces 123 kW, while the rear motor delivers 230 kW, for a combined output of 353 kW. The range-extended (EREV) version is equipped with a 1.5T engine acting as a generator with a maximum power of 115 kW. As previously reported, the EX7 is the first mass-produced model to feature electronic mechanical braking (EMB), eliminating traditional hydraulic components.

Battery

Battery specifications vary by powertrain. The EREV models use packs with capacities of 39.816 kWh and 39.917 kWh, providing CLTC pure-electric ranges of 182 km and 203 km, respectively. The BEV model is equipped with a 97.682 kWh battery pack. Depending on the configuration, the BEV variant offers a CLTC range of 682 km or 726 km.

Market Positioning

The EX7 is positioned as a five-seat mid-to-large SUV aimed at the premium NEV segment. Production is based at Chery’s Wuhu facility in Anhui province. The model’s inclusion of a standard roof-mounted LiDAR unit indicates a focus on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Exeed’s broader parent group, Chery, is currently navigating a period where February sales for several domestic peers declined by double digits, though NIO recorded a 58% year-on-year increase in the same period.
