Avatr, the premium electric vehicle brand collaborated by CATL, Huawei and Changan, has officially launched its Avatr 12 Four-LiDAR Edition on October 28, 2025. The new lineup comprises six variants, with prices ranging from 269,900 to 429,900 yuan (37,800 to 60,200 USD), featuring Huawei’s ADS 4 intelligent driving assistance system.
The latest edition maintains Avatr’s “Future Elegance” design philosophy while incorporating technological upgrades. Most notably, the vehicle is equipped with three long-range LiDAR sensors and one high-precision solid-state rear LiDAR, complementing Huawei’s ADS 4 system.
The exterior design showcases a disc-wing front fascia and a crescent-shaped Halo screen beneath the windshield. The minimalist grille-less front is adorned with dynamic LED daytime running lights and turn signals.

In terms of performance, the extended-range version delivers a maximum power output of 231 kW (310 hp), achieving a pure electric range of over 245 km (CLTC) and a combined range of 1,155km. The pure electric variant offers two options: a rear-wheel-drive single-motor configuration producing 237 kW (318 hp), with a 755 km CLTC range, and an all-wheel-drive version combining 165 kW front and 237kW rear motors for a total output of 402 kW (539 hp) and a 705 km range.

The interior features a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic screen and a 15.6-inch central control display. New additions include a rock brown interior colour scheme and HarmonySpace 5 system integration.

The vehicle is now available for order across Avatr’s dealer network, with deliveries expected to commence in the coming months.

Editor’s comment
The Avatr 12 Four-LiDAR Edition will compete directly with established models like the Nio ET7, Zeekr 001, Xiaomi SU7 and Luxeed S7 in the premium electric vehicle segment.
The competition is incredibly fierce. Despite the advantages of CATL (which many vehicles utilise) and Huawei (which many vehicles utilise and is not limited to Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), Avatr still faces significant challenges. Its design is unique, even somewhat ahead of its time, but whether the market will accept it is another matter entirely.
