BYD Fang Cheng Bao’s (FCB) upcoming sedan, expected to call the Mei 7, was recently spotted in China, covered in camouflage. This model is positioned below the previously leaked Mei 9. Mei means magnesium in Chinese.
Earlier, the General Manager of FCB revealed that in 2026, the third year of the FCB brand, the company will launch a completely new sedan series. This is an expansion of FCB’s current product portfolio, which consists of only SUV models under the brand’s off-road Bao series and urban Titanium series.

At first glance, the Mei 7 features a low-slung, fastback body design with raised ribs on both sides of the hood, semi-hidden door handles, a rear ducktail, and a front lidar, which implies the car will be equipped with a higher tier of BYD’s “God’s Eye” advanced driving assistance system.
Similar to the other models under FCB, the Mei 7 is also expected to ultilize the brand’s Dual Mode Off-road (DMO) Super Hybrid Platform and other technologies such as the DiSus Intelligent Body Control System.

The camouflage wrap features text including “Mei,” “Formula,” “F(x),” and “FORA,” which could potentially be included in the “candidate list” for the new car’s name.
Positioned as a sporty sedan, the Mei 7 may be priced in the 200,000 to 300,000 yuan (28,800 to 43,200 USD) range.
Furthermore, although official technical specifications for the Mei 7 have not yet been released, there is speculation that the model will extensively utilize magnesium alloy materials to achieve lightweight design, as indicated by its name.

In 2025, FCB sold 234,600 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 316.1%. In particular, the Tai 7 sold over 100,000 units, Bao 5 ~60,000 units, Tai 3 ~65,000 units, and Bao 8 ~23,000 units.
