The BYD Song Ultra EV mid-size crossover will enter China soon with a starting price of 180,000 yuan (26,050 USD). It will have up to 710 km of CLTC range and a single e-motor for 270 kW (362 hp).

Various Chinese sources previously mentioned that the Song Ultra EV will enter China with a price range of 220,000 – 260,000 yuan (31,840 – 37,630 USD). However, the Chinese media Autohome reported that this SUV will be priced around 180,000 yuan (26,050 USD), citing its sources.

This noticeable price correction coincides with a recent statement of the General Manager of the BYD Dynasty series that the Song Ultra EV has a goal of achieving over 20,000 units of monthly sales. It is the biggest car in the Song lineup. It will be equipped with BYD’s “God’s Eye” B (DiPilot 300) assisted driving system.

The BYD Song Ultra EV boasts dimensions of 4850/1910/1670 mm with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. Its curb weight lies between 1,990 and 2,050 kg. Despite a length of over 4.8 meters, the Song Ultra has two rows of seats inside due to the slanted roofline. The car has sculpted fenders, flush door handles, a LiDAR sensor on the roof, and a slanted bonnet line.

The Song Ultra EV has a single electric motor. Its entry-level variant boasts a peak power output of 240 kW (322 hp). A more powerful variant of this SUV offers 270 kW (362 hp) of power. This family driver offers two LFP battery variants made by BYD subsidiary FinDreams: 75.6 kWh and 82.7 kWh. The car’s CLTC range is 620 km and 710 km, respectively. The top speed reaches 210 km/h.

The BYD Song was initially a single model under the BYD brand. However, it turned into a small family of crossovers. It currently comprises the Song Pro DM-i, the Song L EV, and the Song L DM-i. The Song Plus SUV, which sells globally as Sealion 6 and Seal U, has recently left the Chinese market.
