BYD has introduced a charging incentive for the Linghui e7, offering eligible owners 1 year of free flash charging, according to BYD fans.

The policy applies to the flash-charging variant of the Linghui e7 and begins on the vehicle delivery date. Charging is available through a network of Linghui and Didi-operated flash charging stations. Some dealerships are also offering extended promotions of up to 1.5 years of free charging, although these are reported to vary by location.

The Linghui e7 flash charging version is equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade battery, according to the same information. The model is positioned for ride-hailing usage, where high daily mileage and fast turnaround times are typical.

Charging costs and usage scenarios

Charging cost data referenced alongside the policy shows variation depending on usage conditions. Home charging during off-peak hours is estimated at around 0.35 yuan (0.05 USD) per kWh, while public fast charging averages about 1.1 yuan (0.15 USD) per kWh. Daytime fast charging in commercial areas is quoted at 1.5-1.8 yuan per kWh.

For ride-hailing drivers, electricity expenses over 100,000 km are estimated at approximately 16,000 yuan (2,300 USD) based on public fast charging rates. The free charging policy, therefore, covers a significant portion of operating costs during the first year of use, according to the same source.

Flash charging rollout and network

The Linghui e7 is part of BYD’s broader rollout of flash charging technology for ride-hailing vehicles. According to a CarNewsChina report dated March 10, 2026, BYD is equipping ride-hailing models with flash charging capability to support faster energy replenishment within urban operations.

The model has already been displayed in 127 cities across China as part of its initial rollout, according to official promotional material.

Sub-brand context

The Linghui brand is a dedicated sub-brand focused on ride-hailing vehicles. According to CarNewsChina (January 10, 2026), BYD established this sub-brand to mitigate the potential negative sales impact associated with ride-hailing vehicle positioning.

The free charging policy is currently limited to the flash charging variant of the Linghui e7 and applies within the designated charging network.
