BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) today announced its July new energy vehicle (NEV) sales figures and subsequently released detailed breakdowns showcasing the performance of different models and sub-brands.

The Qin family of models sold 53,907 units in July, surpassing the Song family to become the best-selling BYD lineup.

The Qin family saw a year-on-year decrease of 26.70 percent in July sales, but a month-on-month increase of 22.40 percent.

The Song family sold 59,026 units in July, making it the second-highest-selling BYD model, with a year-on-year decrease of 19.34 percent and a month-on-month decrease of 10.81 percent.

The Song family includes the Dynasty series models Song L EV, Song L DM-i, and Song Pro DM-i, as well as the Ocean series models Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i.

The Dynasty series Song models sold 27,052 units in July, down 4.50 percent year-on-year and down 2.45 percent month-on-month.

The Ocean series Song models sold 25,596 units in July, down 30.72 percent year-on-year and down 18.21 percent month-on-month.

The BYD Seal sold 46,850 units in July, making it the third-best-selling BYD model, up 39.46 percent year-on-year and up 5.55 percent month-on-month.

BYD Seagull sold 44,989 units in July, up 24.09 percent year-on-year, but down 12.29 percent from June.

The Dynasty series sold 133,783 units in July, down 22.64 percent year-on-year and down 4.09 percent month-on-month.

BYD’s premium Denza brand sold 11,375 units in July, up 10.01 percent year-on-year, but down 27.93 percent from June.

Denza’s July sales included 8,331 units of the D9 MPV, 816 units of the Z9 series, 2,104 units of the N9, and 124 units of the N7.

BYD’s personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao sold 14,180 vehicles in July, up 669.82 percent year-on-year, but down 24.99 percent from June.

This includes 8,513 Tai 3s, 4,102 Bao 5s, and 1,565 Bao 8s.

BYD’s ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang sold 339 vehicles in July, down 22.78 percent year-on-year, but up 65.37 percent from June.

The Yangwang U8 SUV sold 80 units in July, the U9 electric supercar sold 6 units, and the U7 sedan sold 253 units.
