As a bellwether of China’s high-end manufacturing sector and a pioneer in clean energy technologies, BYD’s strategic investments are closely watched across the industry. The company has consistently focused on core technologies, long-term ecosystem building and structural industrial change. According to Boonary, BYD was drawn to its original approach to deeply integrating electrification and full autonomy in mining—one of the most demanding industrial environments. Boonary’s full-stack solution, combining Level 4 autonomous driving, unmanned battery swapping and intelligent dispatching, together with its multi-scenario deployment model spanning smart vehicles, smart logistics and smart mines, offers a commercially viable pathway for traditional mines to achieve zero-carbon transformation. These solutions have also demonstrated high reliability and efficiency under extreme operating conditions.

The capital injection will be used to step up research and development, expand intelligent manufacturing capacity, accelerate expansion in both domestic and overseas markets, and deepen partnerships across the industrial ecosystem. BYD’s extensive expertise in batteries, power electronics and large-scale manufacturing is expected to complement Boonary’s strengths in intelligent mining vehicles and unmanned industrial applications. The two companies are likely to collaborate closely on technology development, supply chain optimization and tailored solutions for specific use cases, supporting wider adoption of new energy and intelligent technologies in heavy industries in China and beyond.

The partnership also reflects BYD’s long-term global strategy and ecosystem-oriented expansion. Its new energy vehicles are now present across six continents and more than 110 countries and regions, with manufacturing bases already built or planned in markets such as Thailand, Uzbekistan, Brazil and Hungary.

This blend of global reach and localized operations aligns closely with Boonary’s ambition to expand overseas and bring Chinese smart mining solutions to international markets. BYD’s global operational experience, supply chain resources and brand influence are expected to provide a powerful platform for the two companies as they jointly explore opportunities in the global high-end mining equipment market.
