BYD Commercial Electric Vehicle Sales Up 213% in 2025

BYD’s having mixed results with plugin passenger vehicle sales lately, with plugin hybrids dropping while full electrics (BEVs) continue to rise. In the commercial vehicle sector, there’s a little bit of an up-and-down matter in one segment, but the overall trend is very positive.

Let’s start with the buses, which are the most visible of BYD’s commercial vehicle sales but also pretty low volume, relatively speaking. With 349 deliveries in November 2025, the company’s bus sales were down 22.3% compared to the 449 delivered in November 2024. However, across the first 11 months of the year, deliveries were still up 5.2%, going from 4,250 of 2024 to 4,422 in 2025.

Then there are BYD’s “other” commercial electric vehicles. Those continued to grow strongly in November, and are of much higher volume. BYD logged 4,916 deliveries of these vehicles in November, up from 2,352 in November 2024. That’s a 109% jump. In total across the first 11 months of the year, BYD delivered 46,977 of these EVs, up from 12,201 in January–November 2024. That’s an increase of 285%!

Overall, combining buses and non-bus commercial vehicles, BYD had 5,265 deliveries in November 2025, up 88% from 2,801 in November 2024. From January–November 2025, BYD had 51,399 deliveries, up 213.3% from 16,406 in January–November 2024. Not a bad year of growth, eh?

BYD’s big jump in commercial vehicle sales started in December 2024, so we’ll see what happens from here out. We might not see this huge year-over-year sales growth for a while again. We’ll see.
