BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has launched the Seal 07 DM-i in several Gulf region countries, further expanding its footprint in the Middle East.
The hybrid sedan, renamed Seal 7 DM-i in the Gulf region, was launched in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman in May and will be launched in Bahrain soon, BYD announced today.
BYD has launched seven models in the Gulf region, including three plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and four battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
The company plans to introduce more models in the Gulf region in the future, it said in a statement.
The Seal 07 DM-i was first launched in China in August 2024, based on BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, making it the first mid-to-large-size sedan to feature this technology.
Its dimensions are 4,980 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm.
The Seal 07 DM-i is available in five variants in China, with starting prices of RMB 139,800 ($19,460), RMB 155,800, RMB 165,800, RMB 175,800, and RMB 195,800.
BYD sold 382,476 vehicles in May, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.27 percent and a month-on-month increase of 0.63 percent.
BYD sold 89,047 NEVs overseas in May, marking the sixth consecutive month of record-breaking sales. This represents a year-on-year increase of 137.46 percent and a month-on-month increase of 12.60 percent.
