BYD, the world leader in new energy vehicle production, is launching the ATTO 2 DM-i in Romania. The new compact SUV comes with Super Hybrid DM-i technology, the same technology behind the success of the SEAL U DM-i, one of the best-selling plug-in hybrid models in Europe. The launch will take place simultaneously in 11 cities over three consecutive days, February 26, 27, and 28: Bucharest, Ploiești, Constanța, Brașov, Bacău, Craiova, Timișoara, Cluj, Iași, Oradea, and Odorheiu Secuiesc.
Super Hybrid with DM technology
The ATTO 2 DM-i offers a combined range of up to 1,000 km and a weighted consumption of only 1.8 l/100 km, without compromising the driving experience. The system operates predominantly electrically, with up to 90 km of pure range, and automatically switches to hybrid mode when necessary, maintaining the responsiveness and refinement of an electric vehicle in all conditions.
The ATTO 2 DM-i is available in two versions: Active, with a 7.8 kWh battery, 166 hp, and 930 km combined range, and Boost, with 18 kWh, 212 hp, 1,000 km combined range, and 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. Both versions offer sufficient electric range for daily commuting, 40 km and 90 km WLTP respectively.
With dimensions of 4,330 x 1,830 x 1,675 mm and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm, the ATTO 2 DM-i has a solid presence on the road. Full-LED headlights, an integrated light bar across the entire width of the rear, and taillights with a “Chinese knot” motif contribute to an instantly recognizable design. The model is available in four colors, including Midnight Blue, a finish available exclusively for Super Hybrid versions.
Inside, the ATTO 2 DM combines an 8.8-inch full-LCD instrument panel with a 12.8-inch touchscreen and the latest BYD voice control system, based on generative artificial intelligence and activated by the command “Hi BYD.” The trunk offers 425 liters of space, expandable to 1,335 liters with the seats folded down. The Boost version adds a panoramic roof, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a 360° camera, 50W wireless charging, and a 3.3 kW Vehicle to Load function.
In terms of safety, both versions come standard with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection, and driver monitoring, along with an extensive range of driver assistance systems.
The ATTO 2 DM-i comes with a 6-year manufacturer’s warranty and an 8-year or 250,000 km warranty for the Blade battery and powertrain.
The BYD ATTO 2 DM-i is now available to order in Romania, with the first deliveries expected to reach customers starting in March. The Active version is priced from EUR 25,600 (including VAT).
