On July 30, BYD launched a new entry-level trim to its Yuan UP series with a cruising range of 301 km, priced at 74,800 yuan (10,400 USD), and does not come with BYD’s “God’s Eye” advanced driving assistance system. For reference, the previous three trims on the market have a price range of 99,800 to 119,800 yuan (13,900 to 16,700 USD) with a cruising range of 401 km. The Yuan UP is sold under the Atto 2 name in the overseas market.
It is worth pointing out that in February this year, BYD announced its “National Intelligent Driving” strategy to integrate the “God’s Eye” system into its entire vehicle lineup, including the affordable BYD Seagull series. However, the new Yuan UP trim seems to deviate from this strategy.

The new Yuan UP 301km Pilot Edition retains the same design and body dimensions, measuring 4310/1830/1675 mm (l/w/h), with a 2620 mm wheelbase.

Two new exterior paints are added for consumers to choose from: beige and purple, on top of the existing white, gray, and green, offering a total of five paints.

The powertrain boasts a front permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 70 kW (94 hp) and a peak torque of 180 Nm, matched with a 32 kWh Blade battery pack, providing a CLTC cruising range of 301 km. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 12 seconds. Under fast charging, it takes 30 minutes to recharge from 30% to 80%.
For comparison, the 401 km trims offer an additional 130 kW/290 Nm electric motor and are matched with 45.12 kWh Blade battery packs. The fastest 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.9 seconds.

Inside, the dashboard features an 8.8-inch instrument panel and a 10.1-inch central control screen, powered by BYD’s DiLink 50 cockpit system. Configurations including 4G network, Bluetooth, in-vehicle WiFi, remote control, OTA updates, voice interaction, four speakers, keyless entry, and tire pressure monitoring are supported. The driver seat is manually adjustable in six ways. The co-pilot seat is manually adjustable in four ways.
