Tesla has removed the "Order New Car" option for the Model S and Model X electric vehicles on its Chinese website, as China has raised tariffs on U.S. goods to 84%. Both models are imported, and although the cessation of new car orders will not significantly impact Tesla's sales in China, its performance in the country has been poor, with production at its Shanghai factory declining for six consecutive months and first-quarter deliveries dropping by 22%.
