According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, Tesla's sales of China-made electric vehicles in May fell by 15% year-on-year, totaling 61,662 units. This statistic includes the domestic sales and export volume of the Model 3 and Model Y produced at the Shanghai Gigafactory. This marks the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year sales decline for Tesla in the world's largest automotive market. However, compared to April, the delivery volume of the domestic Model 3/Y saw a slight month-on-month increase of 5.5%. It is noteworthy that Tesla's electric vehicle sales continue to decline in most regions of Europe. Faced with strong competition from local automakers, especially BYD's impressive performance with a 14.1% year-on-year increase in passenger car sales to 376,930 units in May, Tesla's market pressure continues to intensify. The current Chinese electric vehicle market is caught in a heated price war, with over 40 participating brands.
