Tesla China’s efforts to improve its after-sales service are getting appreciated by car buyers in the country.

BEIJING, Nov 25 (Reuters) - China's electric vehicle giant BYD (002594.SZ), said it will launch a new generation of blade batteries in 2025

Cao Shuang revealed that BYD is planning to release the next generation of Blade batteries for EVs in 2025.

Ridesharing company Uber and carmaker BYD are working on getting EVs on the road. The focus is now on South Africa as part of a pilot programme that will see Uber launch BYD electric vehicles on the streets of Johannesburg in 2025.

Recent reports from local media outlets have claimed that Tesla now has over 400 Tier-1 suppliers in China.

BYD plans to launch passenger EVs in 2025, but insiders say it’s unlikely to sway local buyers.

The government faces pressure from the industry to make changes to electric vehicle sales quotas.

“This is sort of a good thing for the reputation of Chinese-made cars in Europe over the long term,” said Paul Gong, head of China auto research at UBS.
