The BYD Song Ultra EV electric SUV gets 15 orders per store in China 72 hours after the launch. It was discovered that the Sealion 06 EV crossover became the core rival of the new model.
The BYD Song Ultra EV was launched in China on March 26 with a price range of 151,900 – 179,900 yuan (21,980 – 26,030 USD). It is a mid-size crossover capable of charging from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. It boasts up to 710 km of CLTC range and a continuous damping system.

According to CarFans‘ latest report, the Song Ultra EV has a relatively high share of orders among first- and second-tier cities. It has 15 orders per share, leading to a 40% increase in store inflow. The core customer group for the Song Ultra EV is people aged 35 to 45. Female clients made 30% of orders. 70% of customers purchase the car with a trade-in bonus.


CarFans data shows that 45% of customers order the additional DiPilot 300 (“God’s Eye B”) assisted driving package with a LiDAR sensor and a chip with a peak computing power of 254 TOPS. It costs 9,900 yuan (1,430 USD). 75% of customers opt to select the Transcend Edition of the Song Ultra EV. Moreover, 70% of the clients chose the long-range variant of the Song Ultra EV with an electric range of 710 km under CLTC conditions.
The three most popular colors of the BYD Song Ultra EV are beige, purple, and white. Interestingly, 50% of clients compared the Song Ultra EV with the BYD Sealion 06 EV. This model turned into the biggest rival of the new model. It indicates that BYD’s lineup struggles with internal competition. Other competitors of the Song Ultra EV include the Xpeng G6, the Leapmotor C11, the Deepal S7, and the Tesla Model Y, CarFans shared.

The BYD Song Ultra EV adopts the brand’s distinguishing design language with sharp headlights and a chrome-trim element between them. The car’s dimensions are 4850/1910/1670 mm. The wheelbase reaches 2,840 mm. Inside, the Song Ultra EV has a 15.6-inch floating rotating screen and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel. The gear shifter sits on the steering column.
The BYD Song Ultra EV stands on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo 800V architecture. It adopts two optional electric motors in the rear axle with a peak power output ranging from 240 kW (322 hp) to 270 kW (362 hp). The car’s top speed reaches 210 km/h. Two battery LFP battery options are available: a 75.6 kWh pack for 620 km and an 82.7 kWh battery for 710 km. Its batteries support the flash charging technology.
